Kiwanis Club of Manchester awards $75,000 to city parks and rec

MANCHESTER – The City of Manchester, Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries is being awarded $75,000 over the next three years as the Kiwanis Club of Manchester Major Emphasis Project. With the awarded funds held in a CIP account, up to seven park areas citywide will be renovated including five basketball courts and 12 tennis courts.

“We are very excited to be partnering with the Kiwanis Club of Manchester to improve outdoor courts across the city. Their support is invaluable as we work toward meeting the facility needs of individuals who are looking to live a healthier lifestyle. Members of organizations who also rely on our facilities will benefit greatly by the court upgrades that will be completed with this grant funding,” said Don Pinard, chief of Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries.

In order to help fund local organizations supporting Manchester’s youth, the Kiwanis Club of Manchester hosts multiple fundraising initiatives annually. One of the largest being the annual Kiwanis Auction, held June 2 at Webster House.
