BEDFORD – For the fourth year in a row, Cohen Closing & Title was selected as one of the Best Companies to Work For by Business NH Magazine, putting the real estate company in the competition’s Hall of Fame.
Since opening in February 2015, owner Kelly Cohen now has a staff of 42 employees. Earlier this year, she was chosen as one of nine Outstanding Women in Business.
“It’s been awesome, I hire amazing humans,” said Cohen.
In addition to its Bedford office, Cohen Closing & Title has locations in Hampton, Lincoln, Gilford and Wells, Maine.
This year also marks the fourth time that Sanborn, Head & Associates has been honored. For the first time, the company has been listed among the top 10 Best Companies to Work For, taking the number seven spot.
“This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to creating an environment where employees can thrive professionally and personally,” said Barret Cole, CEO of Sanborn Head. “We’ve always believed that our greatest asset is our people and making the Top 10 validates our efforts to foster a workplace culture built on collaboration, innovation and mutual respect.”
Jennifer Sanborn, senior vice president of Talent, said the company is always working to “adapt to evolving workplace needs while maintaining our culture and core values.”
“This achievement demonstrates that our team members feel valued and engaged, which directly translates to the unique experience we provide to our clients,” she said.
Peter Lachance, managing partner of the Altair Group, said the key is making sure employees feel valued.
“This recognition is a reflection of our team-first culture and our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported and energized,” he said. “When our people thrive, so does our work and we believe that’s been a key to our success. Being honored with this award alongside our placement on the Inc. 5000 list makes this year especially meaningful and is a testament to our amazing team.”
Other Bedford businesses that were recognized include Wire Belt Company of America, Rise Private Wealth Management and TFMoran.
Since 1998, Business NH has recognized businesses for their camaraderie and office culture. To qualify for this elite group, companies must pass a meticulous selection process. This includes an office tour and employers submitting a detailed summary of benefits and workplace practices. Employees are also asked to complete engagement surveys and to participate in a focus group.
“When your managers aren’t happy, your workforce isn’t too far behind,” said Matthew Mowry, executive editor of Business NH. “Finding ways to engage employees and developing cultures that meet these new challenges is imperative. Who better to turn to for answers than those with employees reporting high engagement?”
