‘Y’ to host Southern N.H. ‘Kidsfest 2020’ on Mar. 10

The Greater Merrimack-Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce will host “Kidsfest 2020” at the Westwood Park of the YMCA of Greater Nashua (90 Northwest Blvd., Nashua), on Saturday, Mar. 10 from 10AM – 3PM.

Co-sponsored by the Telegraph, as well as the Dance Company, Southern New Hampshire Health, the United Way of Greater Nashua, All American Party Rentals, DJ Ron DMC, Amherst Label Parenting NH magazine and Service Credit Union, the event is free to the community and will features live music and entertainment performances, kids’ games and activities, bounce houses, and more.

With its expansive new space and state-of-the-art facility on Northwest Blvd. in Nashua, the ‘Y’ was a logical locale for “Kidsfest 2020.”

“Our new Westwood Park YMCA location seemed like a great venue to bring kids and families together,” said Elizabeth Covino, director of community relations for the YMCA of Greater Nashua. “We’re bringing a lot of different organizations together at one time for fun opportunities for kids and certainly we’re looking at ahead with different camps and activities that kids and families can consider for this summer.”

“Kidsfest” will feature more than 70 booths, ranging from martial studios, performing exhibitions and dance organizations (also performing selected routines), to booths by Touchstone Farm (a non-profit that features a fun and exciting Pony Farm, a residential summer camp in Temple, New Hampshire, for girls ages 8-14), and the Flying Gravity Circus from Wilton, New Hampshire (a non-profit youth performance and education which uses the circus arts as a teaching tool for positive youth development and to ignite kids’ love for the all things circus!)

Outside the ‘Y’, there will be a “touch-a-truck” display and young guests will get to check out the Nashua Police Departments SWAT vehicle, a Nashua Fire department fire truck and an ambulance from Lifeline.

“We will also have great raffle prizes,” said Covino. “Two kid’s bicycles, a children’s birthday party at the YMCA, two 3-month family memberships and one week of ‘Sports Camp’ at Westwood Park Branch.”

All attendees will get a one week guest pass to visit the YMCA.

“We are excited for this fun event,” said Covino. “This is fun, indoor kid’s event is a great way to spend a winter day,” she said. “There will be a lot of giveaways and fun, free activities for kids of all ages.”
