Marguerite’s Place receives surveillance system from Axis

NASHUA – Throughout its 27 years of service to greater Nashua, Marguerite’s Place has sought ways to improve its ability to provide a safe haven for women and children in need of transitional housing.

Most recently, Marguerite’s Place was the beneficiary of a modern IP-network and video surveillance system from Axis Communications.

Axis, a Swedish company with headquarters located across the United States, provides various digital video, audio and other advanced methods for businesses and other organizations requiring enhanced security systems.

Its donation to Marguerite’s Place will provide greater peace of mind to staff and residents of the facility. Axis replaced a system that, according to a statement released by the company, left Marguerite’s Place vulnerable “due to an unreliable and outdated video surveillance system, leading senior staff to search out a reliable and user-friendly video surveillance system.”

Since many of the residents are victims of domestic violence or trying to break free from a substance-abuse culture that caused them to fear for their safety and the safety of their children, installing a state-of-the-art security system was a major priority.

Not only can Marguerite’s Place now maintain a higher level of safety for its residents, it can also share video with local authorities, including law enforcement officials, to ease any anxiety caused by unknown people approaching or trying to enter the facility.
