NASHUA – The remnants of depleted bottles of solvents, pints of pesticides, oil-based paints or fertilizers, or, perhaps, adhesives, antifreeze, fluorescent light bulbs or pool products, can meet their ends safely from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sept 26, and Nov. 7, at Nashua Park and Ride, 25 Crown St., Nashua, during the year’s final Household Hazardous Waste Collection events.

Six collections in 2026 are sponsored by the Nashua Regional Planning Commission (NRPC), based at 30 Temple St., Nashua.

Other eligible materials of a corrosive, flammable, toxic, or reactive nature that are welcomed for surrender on those dates include household cleaners, polyurethane, brake fluid, acids, photo chemicals, sealers, thinners and mercury.

Prohibited materials that will be rejected on those days include latex paints, acrylic paints, used oil, medications, electronics, smoke detectors and car batteries. No container larger than five gallons is permitted.

The year’s roster of collection events, some previously presented in Nashua on April 19, Milford on May 9 and Pelham on Aug. 8, enlist NRPC representatives who conduct the public services for residents of Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, Pelham and Windham.

The cost is $20 per vehicle. A maximum of 10 gallons of liquids or 20 pounds of solids is mandated.

The Nashua collection is a drive-through event wherein drivers remain in their cars or trucks. Event personnel take the opportunity while drivers wait in line to inspect the proposed donations and okay the cargo as acceptable.
