FIRST LEGO Robotics tourney

Come see 9-14-year-olds compete in the FIRST LEGO League Robotics tournament at Hollis/Brookline High School, sponsored by HBHS FIRST Robotics Team 1073, the Force Team.

FIRST LEGO League is designed to get children excited about science and technology.

Each team will compete in two events – the Robot Game and the Project.

This year’s challenge, received in early September, is “Body Forward” where teams explore the cutting-edge world of Biomedical Engineering. In the Robot Game teams use an autonomous robot that they’ve built to score points in 21? 2 minute matches on a themed playing field.

In the project, teams explore an actual problem that today’s scientists are trying to solve, develop an innovative solution and share their findings.

The tournament will be from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., in the HBHS gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 20. Admission is free.
