Valentine’s Day cabaret to benefit new facility

HOLLIS – A fun evening of song, dance and choreography to help Harbor Homes’ new Keystone Hall facility close in on its fundraising goal is coming this weekend.

The “Valentine’s Day Cabaret Dinner Show,” on Saturday, Feb. 11, opens at 5:30 p.m. with buffet dinner set for 6 p.m. at Alpine Grove, 19 South Depot Road in Hollis.

Produced by Lou Duhamel and Lorenzo Vigil, the show starts at 8 p.m., after which dancing and socializing continues to midnight. Those interested in the show and dancing only can arrive between 7:30-8 p.m. for a $20 admission, half the entire event admission of $40.

Keystone, which recently held a dedication program and open house at the 615 Amherst St. facility, is moving from Pine Street Extension into the new home this month and in March. Donations, grants and other funding sources, including various fundraisers, have helped the agency, an affiliate of Harbor Homes’ Partnership for Successful Living, purchase, renovate and begin outfitting the new building. Ongoing fundraisers are geared toward raising the remaining $400,000 needed to finish furnishing the rooms and a children’s play area.

Saturday’s featured cabaret troupe, the Red Hot Society, is a regionally based group that has appeared at various fundraisers, including a 2011 event for Harbor Homes.
