Hollis student meets aviator

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Famed aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart visited Applewild School recently, courtesy of Historical Perspectives for Children. The assembly brings to life some famous men and women of history. In this photo, Amelia is joined by several students from Applewild who have studied her life in detail. In the front, from left, are Grace Lassila of Hollis and Sophia Bueno of Nashua; in back, from left, are Katelynn Banville of Gardner, Mass., Katherine Bullitt of Nashua, Ms. Earhart, and Dakota Miner of Fitchburg, Mass. Sophia, a second-grader, will portray Ms. Earhart in her class’s Living Wax Museum in March. Grace and Katelynn portrayed Ms. Earhart when they were in the second grade. Dakota and Katherine did research projects of Ms. Earhart’s life.
