Over the last two years, Judy Cook, a Brookline Cemetery Trustee, has worked diligently to create a current and comprehensive inventory of everyone who rests in the town’s four cemeteries. She has assembled that information into a manageable digital record, a remarkable accomplishment that will be helpful to the town and to all people seeking to pay their respects.

In the course of her work, Judy also did the research to determine that about one hundred interred veterans were missing holders for the flags with which the local Legion honors our veterans each year. Word went out somewhat informally and in short order 8 families stepped forward to contribute the approximately $1,700.00 necessary to purchase the missing holders.

On Memorial Day next year, Brookline will truly be able to say that while many of our veterans may be gone, they have not been forgotten.
