Lil’ Iguana to hold Family Fun Day in Nashua

NASHUA – The Lil’ Iguana Children’s Safety Foundation will host its annual Family Fun Day from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Nashua High School South.

The event will focus on health, fitness, safety and literacy for children and their families.

A large section will be dedicated to health and fitness, including samples of nutritious foods and beverages, and easy and fun ways to stay active and play.

New this year will be a free wellness and immunization clinic, presented by Rite Aid. There will also be a teddy bear/Lil’ Iguana clinic to which children can bring their stuffed Lil’ Iguana or other favorite stuffed animal to be examined by the Nightingale Society of Nashua Community College.

Other activities at Family Fun Day include bounce houses by Jump Around NH, inflatable games, face painting, balloon art, kids activities and crafts, Party Palace princess characters, the New England Brethren of Pirates and a coloring contest.

All participants in the coloring contest will receive a book as their prize when they return their entry form to Family Fun Day. There will be two grand prize coloring contest winners, who receive bikes with helmets, donated by Target.

Entertainment will include The Dance Company, Mad Science, Rhythmic Revolution Baton Twirlers, Music For Kids with Sharon Novak, Tokyo Joe’s Studio of Self-Defense, Big Joe the Storyteller, Y Dance in Motion, Belinda Bridgeman Academy of Dance, Story Time with Colleen’s Traveling Story Shelf, a mascot parade and a mascot dance-off.

Costume characters and team mascots will participate in the mascot parade at noon and will holding meet-and-greets from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
