Wasserman Park Beach Parking Placard or Transfer Station Sticker is proof of residency for locals permitted exclusive use of town beach

MERRIMACK – Wasserman Park Town Beach, a summertime amenity for residents visiting Wasserman Park, 116 Naticook Road, is open daily from dawn to dusk and is ruled to be permitted for the exclusive use of Merrimack residents and their authorized guests.

“Management will be doing regular rounds at the beach, talking with beach patrons, enforcing the residency requirements and issuing beach placards,” said James Golisano, program coordinator at the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department.

The declaration is a reminder that nonresident visitors are permitted to use the beach area only when accompanied by a Merrimack resident.

Proof of residency includes having an annual vehicle sticker issued by the Merrimack Solid Waste Transfer Station & Recycling Facility, a decal mounted inside the windshields of town residents who provide driver’s license documentation upon requesting a new annual sticker.

Another approved method of proof of residency is the acquisition of a Wasserman Park Parking Placard; an easily seen permit usually displayed atop the instrument panel — the dashboard — of a resident’s vehicle or hung from the vehicle’s rear-view mirror. Identification is required to obtain the placard.

Provide proof of residency, usually a driver’s license, and receive a beachfront parking permit at Merrimack Town Hall, 6 Baboosic Lake Road, or at the Merrimack Parks and Recreation office, located alongside the public parking lot.

“Our waterfront director is also authorized to give out parking passes and residents can approach any of our park staff to be introduced to that person,” Golisano added.
