Kenneth J. Quast Sr.

Kenneth J. Quast Sr., 82, passed away on June 8th 2021 in hospice care at The Elms Center in Milford, NH. His battle with serious medical issues showed his courage in facing life challenges with a positive outlook. In spite of his pain, he kept his keen wit and sense of humor. His loving heart left a beacon of light for all who knew him.

Ken was born in Amityville, NY and settled in Milford, NH in 1966. He established the town’s first youth drop-in center which later became Interact. He was an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a founding member of the Milford Volunteer Ambulance Service. Ken worked many years as a research chemist for Bard Laboratories in Amherst, NH and later in life; he returned to public service as a mental health counselor with Nashua Family Services in Nashua, NH. In retirement he served as a sexton for the Church of Our Saviour in Milford, NH and developed and curated observationsblog.com to share his diverse life experience.

Ken is survived by his four children: son Kenneth Quast Jr. and wife Robin (Sullivan) Quast; daughter, Katherine Quast; son, Joseph Quast; and daughter Erika (Quast) Marshall and husband Brian Marshall; as well 7 grandchildren and his former wife, Florence Quast.
