Lunenburg-Emily M. (Moore) Foster

Lunenburg-Emily M. (Moore) Foster, 96, a longtime Lunenburg resident. Passed away peacefully on June 28, 2021.

Daughter of the late Chester and Ethel Moore of Milford, NH, and sister of the late Helen Philbrick of Rye, NH and the late Lois Querim of Florida. Beloved wife of the late Lester P. Foster. Beloved mother of Robert Foster and his late wife, Dayle of Lunenburg and David Foster and his wife, Mary of Townsend. Proud grandmother of Erin DeSantis and her husband Michael, Rachel Foster, Samantha Foster, and William Foster, and 2 great-grandchildren, Lucas and Ellie DeSantis.  She was also a beloved aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in Rye, NH and Gainesville, FL.

From Cub Scout Den Mother to beloved Children’s Librarian to Meals on Wheels volunteer to busy Senior Center member, Emily was active in the Lunenburg community, and enjoyed golf and bowling leagues and the “Bookworms” club.  Emily loved her “Story Hour” kids from her 20+ years as the Children’s Librarian of the Ritter Memorial Library in Lunenburg.  After retirement, she became an active member of the Lunenburg Friendly Seniors and the Eagle House Senior Center.  She also worked for years as a poll worker for elections in Lunenburg and assisted in the yard sales for the United Parish of Lunenburg.

Emily was most proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved family get-togethers and took great pleasure in her later years watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren joyfully interact. She proudly architected her hillside rock garden at home each year.
