Peter H. Moulton

Peter H. Moulton, 76, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away at his residence on August 24, 2021, of natural causes.

Peter was born on March 19, 1945, to Epworth and Joan (Hayden) Moulton in Manchester, New Hampshire. He served in the U.S. Army as a SP5. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with one Overseas Bar, National Defense Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal.

Peter lived the first twelve years of his life in Manchester before moving to Amherst, NH for the next thirty years (with time spent at college and in the army). Pete was a straight A student in school. He taught Sunday school while in high school. Pete was kind and loving. Although six and seven years older than two of his brothers, he let them hang around him, took them to the movies and the beach. He would take them on errands or to get an ice cream cone. Pete was full of jokes. His brothers looked up to him and loved him.

After graduating from Columbia University in New York City, Pete married and began a promising career in publishing. Then the army drafted him. After he mustered out, his marriage ended in divorce. Pete could not get his footing in pursuing a career. So, he drove trucks making deliveries for a farm supply business. He worked a decade in the family grocery store as the bookkeeper. He then worked for several years helping his older brother in his tile business. Pete ended his working life while employed many years by a manufacturer of packaging machines in Clearwater, FL. before becoming disabled. He liked all his jobs and told interesting stories about them for years. Pete also recounted humorous tales of his experiences in Vietnam.

Peter loved doing carpentry projects and working on his computer. He spent years studying computer programming languages while writing a C++ program for no reason other than it facinated him. Pete also loved cooking and eating well. His last project was putting together a cookbook.

Peter is survived by his loving brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Lindy Moulton of Virginia Beach, VA, Raymond and Doreen Moulton of St. Petersburg, FL and Dana Moulton of Raymond, NH.

Peter’s family thank the doctors, nurses, and other care providers at the VA Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida for the wonderful care they always gave Pete, especially during his bout with Covid-19 last winter.

Burial will take place in Peter’s beloved hometown of Amherst, New Hampshire.
