James P. ‘Bud’ McEntee

James P. “Bud” McEntee, 91, longtime resident of Lyndeborough, NH died on December 14, 2021 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH after a health decline.

He was born on July 2, 1930 in Amherst, NH, a son of the late John and Bridget (Flannigan) McEntee. Bud was raised and educated in Milford and is a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1948. After high school Bud attended Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA to study construction management. Following college, he returned to Milford and worked alongside his father, John, in the family’s masonry business.

He was a faithful communicant of the St. Patrick’s Parish in Milford for over 70 years. Bud served as a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, longtime moderator for the Town of Lyndeborough, and was one of the original board of director members for the Wilton- Lyndeborough Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association.

Bud married Margaret (Bullard) McEntee in 1954 and together they began their family in Milford. They later moved to Lyndeborough where they have resided for over 60 years. He and Margaret enjoyed vacationing in Maine, day trips around New Hampshire, and spending quality time with their three grandchildren, Austin, Laura, and Devin. He was a devoted husband and loving “Bumpa”.

In addition to his parents, Bud was predeceased by his siblings, Philip, John and Rosemary.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret “Peg” McEntee of Lyndeborough, NH; his two sons and their spouses Timothy and Christine McEntee of Wilton, NH and Thomas and Sarah McEntee of Amherst, NH; his grandchildren, Austin McEntee of Boston, MA, Laura and Timmy St. John of New Ipswich, NH and Devin and Hannah McEntee of Milford, NH; his great grandchildren, Josh, Leah, James and Jacob St. John, and Ellie McEntee; his two sisters, Cecile Steele of Milford, NH and Katherine Daniels also of Milford, NH; two of his special nieces who have helped care for Bud over the past few years, Cathy Bullard and Mary Rae both of Lyndeborough, NH; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the St. Patrick’s Church Milford, NH with burial in the spring in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst, NH. All are invited to meet directly at church.
