MILFORD – Dorothea M. “Dottie” Johnson, 90, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died October 9, 2022 at The Inn at Fairview, Hudson, NH.

She was born in Haverhill, MA on February 16, 1932, daughter of James M. and Marion B. (Vachon) Sims. Dottie was raised and educated in Plaistow, NH and Haverhill, MA and graduated with honors from Haverhill High School, Class of 1950. She attended the University of New Hampshire.

Dottie made her home in Milford for over 66 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Milford, NH and was a Sunday school teacher. In her younger years she was the Den mother for Pack 4 Cub Scouts. She worked for Weight Watchers for over 25 years. In addition, she was an avid Red Sox fan, and loved knitting a sweater for every newborn baby of family and friends. Over her lifetime she also had many dogs and was especially fond of her black lab Molly.

In the last year of her life, she developed a close bond with her great granddaughter Eleanor Skladony, who brought her great joy and comfort.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Robert A. Johnson who died in March, 2020.

Family members include two sons and daughters-in law, Dale & Karen Johnson of Milford, NH, and Jeff & Kim Johnson of Mont Vernon, NH; two grandchildren, Amey Skladony and her husband Mike of Manchester, NH, and Cole Johnson of Amherst, NH; one great grandchild, Eleanor Skladony of Manchester; two step grandchildren, Jacqueline Foster of Canton, MA and Ryan Foster of Hillsboro, NH; two step great grandchildren Halaena Foster and Auden Foster of Hillsboro.
