Mildred L. Campman

Mildred L. Campman, long-time resident of Amherst, NH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 6, 2023. Daughter of William J. and Muriel E. (Weekes) Dark, she was born in 1929 in Jamaica, NY. Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Herbert W. Campman, also by her parents, her brother, Jack Dark and her sister, Edythe MacIsaac. Mildred grew up and graduated from schools in Hollis, NY. In 1957, she and Herb moved to Amherst, where they raised their family. Mildred “Mim” was a very talented homemaker, cook, gardener, seamstress, decorator and fine artist. As a long-time resident of Amherst, over the years she volunteered at the Amherst Congregational Church as a member of various committees and served as a leader for the Brownies & Girl Scouts. She also volunteered at the Memorial Hospital in Nashua, was a volunteer for the Amherst Schools, and PTA, and was also a member of the Amherst Gardeners Club. She is survived by her daughters, Claudia J. Frades (Steven), Pamela L. Campman-Young (Mitchell) and Heather C. Astle (Joseph); nine grandchildren, Christine N. Bemis (Matthew), Jessica L. Blasi (Ryan), Matthew C. Frades (Katherine), Sarah A. Treadwell, Robert C. Treadwell IV, Molly H. Treadwell, Joseph S. Astle, Holly C. Hatch (Will) and William R. Astle; nine great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends, including Frank Weeks. SERVICES: A Memorial Gathering will be held, on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 2:00-3:00PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104. A memorial service will follow at 3:00PM. Family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice, P.O.
