John P. Leslie

John P. Leslie, 77, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died on February 9, 2023, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born on April 2, 1945, the son of the late Myron and Jean P. Leslie. John grew up in Westbury, Long Island, NY. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1967 with a degree in Physics. After serving in the U.S. Army, John worked at the MIT Lincoln Labs in Lexington, MA, as a Systems Programmer. In 1977 he moved to Milford, NH, where he started an internet service provider company, John Leslie Consulting. John was a member of the Milford Rotary Club and served on the Milford School Board. A faculty member at Milford High School commented, “John had a massive impact on improving technology and technology education at Milford High School and is a key reason that the Applied Technology Center exists in Milford today.” John served as secretary of the NH Internet Service Providers Association for ten years and worked for many years on the Internet Engineering Task Force developing expanded IP address capability. John was also an accomplished organist and served as organist at Grace Episcopal Church in Manchester. He then served at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Amherst as organist, choir director and clerk of the parish for several decades. Funeral services will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church later this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Anglican Church, P.O. Box 131, Amherst, NH 03031.
