David E. Seagroves

David E. Seagroves 76, of Lyndeborough, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday Aug. 10, 2023.

He was born March 18, 1947, in Nashua, to parents Fletcher and Bertha (Davidson) Seagroves. David served in the US Army from 1968-1972 as a Laos linguist. He went on to work as an industrial mechanic, specializing in plastics. He was a member of the Wilton American Legion Post for many years.

In his free time, he enjoyed sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee, researching family genealogy, camping, and spending time outdoors. What he cherished most was time with his family. He was also an avid New England sports fan.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Mary (Murdough) Seagroves of Lyndeborough; his daughters Heather Battles and her husband John of Durham, NC; April Martel of Gaffney, SC; Penny Rassier and her husband Greg of Greenville; his sons Barry Martel of Lyndeborough; and Joseph Martel of Tennessee; his brother, William Seagroves, and his wife Suzy of Concord; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter. Karen Seagroves, who passed in 1988, and his brother Fletcher Seagroves.

Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend calling hours at the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St. Wilton, 03086, on Saturday Aug. 19, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Wilton.
