Milford girls tennis taking step up

The Milford High girls tennis team went winless a year ago, but fifth-year coach Nancy McManus may have just conjured up the winning recipe.

The coach will mix the valuable experience gained a year ago with a dangerous gang of newcomers.

“We’re looking strong with some talented freshmen players in addition to our returners,” said McManus.

Talk about a regular “Brown-out.”

Returning starters Katie Brown, Sabrina Brown, Sydney Kolasinski, Kami Peterson and Bri Phalon will be bolstered by letter winners Katie Brown, Sabrina Brown, Sydney Kolasinski, Kami Peterson, Bri Phalon, Rachel Statz and Kayla Sickler.

Yes. For those counting at home, that is four Browns on the team.

Newcomers Grace Carpenter, Heather Hager and Leslie Macgrath will all figure into the mix.
