Matt Canavan’s 26 point performance propelled the Sabers (5-0) past the Spartans (2-3). Keegan Burke and John McBride recorded seven points each. Milford’s Chuck Urda scored 13 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Milford 45, Souhegan 30

Bailey Johnson and Avery Fuller led the box score with 14 points apiece as they led the Spartans (3-2) over the rival Sabers (2-3). Lulu Maguire chipped in 10 points.

Milford’s defense held Souhegan to single digits in every quarter. Addie Hopkins, Kate Hansen and Ellianna Nassy led the defensive unit. Kate Canavan led the Sabers with 11 points.

BOYS HOCKEY

Hanover 3,

North-Souhegan 1

The Nashua North-Souhegan skaters fell at Hanover, 3-1, with Chris Weeden getting the lone Saber-Titans goal, asssisted by Chase McBride and Will Dodge.

Goalie Colin Duckless had another good day with 31 saves.

It was tight all the way until Hanover got an empty-net goal late.
