A’s win farm league

The A’s recently defeated the previously undefeated Yankees 10-7 to win the championship for the 8-9 year-old Milford farm league.

The a’s finished second in the seven-team league during the regular season with an 8-4 record and had lost to the Yankees twice. Before beating the Yankees, the A’s beat the Giants, 21-3, the Dodgers, 17-11, and the Pirates, 14-4, in the playoffs.

A’s coaches Wade Strickland and Sharon Estabrook say that their most outstanding players were second baseman Brandon Foster, shortstop Robert Riendeau, first baseman Greg Doran, pitcher Kary Estabrook and catcher Nate Mason.

Others on the team were Scott Jowders, Jason Randall, Erin Dunahue, Maureen Dunahue, Kevin Stetson, Steven Bishop, Ben Seward, Carolyn Farrow, Laura LeBoeuf and Ken Broderick.
