Milford girls soccer posts pair of wins

GIRLS SOCCER

MILFORD 2, PELHAM 2

Marissa Sage netted two goals, but it was not enough as the game ended in a tie. Alina St. George added an assist. Jocelyn Shaw, Kulu Maguire, Emily Lloyd and Addi Hopkins played well on the defensive end.

MILFORD 5, JOHN STARK 3

The Spartans rallied from a 3-1 deficit to even its record at 2-2, thanks in part to a hat trick by Marissa Sage.

Alina St. George opened the scoring for Milford and Ava Krycki scored in the closing minutes to seal the victory.

CONVAL 4, MILFORD 3 (OT)

The Spartans’ (2-3) errors cost them in the end as they took an overtime loss to ConVal.

Alina St. George and Marissa Sage found the back of the net.

Kate Hansen and Hannah Clarke had good showing for the locals.

SOUHEGAN 2, KEENE 0

Greta Caulton and Zofi Rosenfield each found the back of the net to secure a win for the Sabers.

JOHN STARK 1, SOUHEGAN 0

The Sabers ended up on the losing end of a tough battle against John Stark. Mishka Tower had a great performance between the posts.

BOYS SOCCER

PELHAM 1, SOUHEGAN 0

The Pythons scored in the 25th minute on an own goal, as the Sabers dropped to a frustrating 0-5 despite forcing Pelham keeper Hadi Eid to combe up big nine times – no less than five full stretch saves.

Finn Daly had five saves for Souhegan.

CONVAL 3, SOUHEGAN 0

The Sabers couldn’t find a way to stop the Cougars’ Jake Daniels, who had all three goals, as they fell to 0-4. Finnegan Daly had nine saves in the Souhegan goal.

WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 5,

PITTSFIELD 1

The Warriors got two goals each by Korey Begley and Austin Kimball, plus a goal by Harry Krug as they improved to 2-3. Rob Gagnon and Ben Jacob played well in goal for WLC.

VOLLEYBALL

MILFORD 3, PLYMOUTH 1

The visiting Spartans dropped the first set but took the next three to improve to 3-1. Standouts included Alena Letendre (13 kills, two digs), Piper Greenhalgh (four aces, three kills, eight digs), Kylie Allen (nine kills, three digs, one ace), Bailey Johnson (seven kills, two blocks, one ace) and Hannah Harrington (15 assists, three aces).

ST. THOMAS 3, SOUHEGAN 0

The Sabers (1-3) drop to St. Thomas 9-25, 19-25, 9-25. Reagan Pepin 11 assists and two kills with Alicia Kennedy adding four kills.

The Broncos took second despite a struggle for Noah LeClair who shot a 42. However Alex Blais (46), Ryan Hurrell (42) and Logan Casey (46) in their final home match of the season at Whip-Poor-Will.

Reid Mitchell (42) and Cavan Quinn (43) led the way for HB, while Milford was paced by Jack Bastarache and Aidan Weissenee (46) and Brady Hansen (47).

Timberlane’s Steve Ramos was the medalist.

Brady Hansen led Milford with a 43 at Amherst Country Club. Also playing well for the Spartans were Hunter Kolesar (44), Aidan Weissenee (46) and Jack Bastarache (48).
