Girls Volleyball

Merrimack 3, Keene 0

The Tomahawks improved to 11-5 on Monday after a 25-10, 25-21, 25-7 victory.

Elise Jolly paced with win with 11 kills and nine digs while Joanne Bonner added nine service aces with four kills. Also contributing were: Paddie Lacey (five kills), Alli Marino (16 assists) and Lianna Klinger (four aces, 10 digs).

Dover 3, Merrimack 2

Merrimack fell to 10-5 in five sets (25-19, 24-26, 17-25, 25-23, 7-15) on Oct. 14 despite multiple contributors. They were Elise Jolly (21 kills, four aces, 14 digs, six blocks), Jordyn Boyce (seven digs, five kills), Brianne Nordengren (four blocks, seven digs, four kills), and Alli Marino (23 assists).

Merrimack (3-11) got its lone goal from Erin Ortega on Oct. 14.

The Tomahawks had good defensive work from Rachel Mack, Abby Morgan, Gigi Wood and Emma Zanni.

Cross Country

Merrimack competes
at Brown race

The Merrimack girls finished third and the boys took 18th in Division II on Saturday at the 34th Brown University High School Cross Country Meet at Goddard Park in Warwick, R.I.

Leading the girls were Lauren Brennan (10th, 18:55.6), Bailey Carrillo (12th, 19:04.3) and Grace Corbett (15th, 19:09.9) led Merrimack (106 points) to third out of 22 teams. Colonie High School, of Albany N.Y., won the team title with 60 points.

Dave Vaccaro was the lone top-25 finisher for the Tomahawk boys in 10th (16:02). Cam Correia, of Holyoke, Mass., won the race in 15:34.7.
