Jolly named student athlete of the month

NASHUA – Elise Jolly, a senior at Merrimack, and Patrick Gillis, a senior at Exeter High School, have been named the Apple Therapy Student Athletes of the Month for October.

Jolly is a member of the Tomahawks volleyball team, and just set the state record for most blocks. She has also run track, swam, and played basketball for Merrimack. Jolly has a GPA of 4.38.

Gillis is a four-year member of the Blue Hawks football team, and is a member of both the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. He plans to pursue a degree in engineering.

ESPN New Hampshire and Apple Therapy have teamed up for the 2016-17 school year to search for the most unique, talented and skilled high school senior student athletes to be honored monthly for their achievements.

Each month, one senior boy and girl will be selected and interviewed on ESPN New Hampshire (1250/900 AM, www.espnnhradio.com).

All the monthly winners will be invited to a banquet in May, where the Apple Therapy Student Athletes of the Year will be crowned.

One senior boy and one senior girl will win a $2,500 scholarship.

Requirements: Must be a senior at a New Hampshire high school, play a varsity sport, and have at least a 3.0 GPA. To nominate your favorite athlete, simply email the student athlete’s name, school, accomplishments and GPA to nick.anastos@espnnh.com.
