Sedlar will try to defend title

At just 19 years old, Chelsea Sedlar will be defending her title at the New Hampshire Women’s Golf Association Amateur Championship on July 31-August 2 at Eastman Golf Links in Grantham. Fifty-seven of NH’s top women golfers will compete in this 54-hole stroke play event. The field has such notables as Dana Harrity who first won this title in 1987 and went on to win 9 more times. Dana’s most recent victory was in 2014. Lisanne Schmidt who won in 2015, will be seeking her 2nd title. Tara Watt won the title in 2011, and most recently set a new course record at Derryfield CC with a round of 65. Tara will be representing New Hampshire in the USGA State Team tournament in Santa Fe, N.M., this fall.

Dale Nims who won the NHWGA Senior Champion’s title in 2002, 2005, and the NHWGA Legend’s Champion title in 2012, 2014-2016. The competitors will be supported on the course by NHWGA Rules Officials as well as a host of volunteer forecaddies. NHWGA Amateur Championship, dates back to 1922. New Hampshire Women’s Golf Association has a rich history, steeped in 94 years of tradition.
