Abhishek Shah, Adam Levesque, Amy Dean, Ana Gliss, Benjamin Stevens, Brett Gifford, Cassandra Shawver, Ian Lowies, Ian Lowies, Jennifer Conley, Josephine Volpe, Ryan Harding, Ryan Helie, Stephanie Fournier and Thomas Gliss, of Bedford, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester.

Tufts University

Daniel Quinn, of Bedford, was named to the spring 2012 dean’s list at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.

Union College

Timothy Ridell, of Bedford, was awarded a bachelor’s degree in biology this spring from Union college in Schenectady, N.Y. He was also named to the spring 2012 dean’s list.

University of Albany

Tejeshwer Jaswal, of Bedford, graduated this spring from the University of Albany (N.Y), with a bachelor’s degree.

University of New England

Alyssa Mixon, daughter of Lorraine Bauman and James Mixon, of Bedford, a first-year student at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, recently participated in the college’s annual White Coat Ceremony.

The ceremony formally recognizes the transition students make from laypeople to those assuming the responsibility of physicians.

The evening ceremony was held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, Maine. In keeping with tradition, the medical students were presented with their white coats by members of the physician community.

After the presentation, the students recited the osteopathic oath. A reception to honor the class of 2016 followed.

University of Dallas

Catherine Hieronymus, of Bedford, graduated this spring with a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Dallas (Texas).

University of Hartford

Craig Healey, of Bedford, was named to the spring 2012 dean’s list at the University of Hartford.

Mary Kitsis, of Bedford, graduated this spring from the University of New Haven (Conn.) with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

John M. Charamella, of Bedford, was named to the spring 2012 dean’s list at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.

Matthew Martin, of Bedford, received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech this spring.
