Registration now open for 2017 ArtWalk Weekend

NASHUA – According to City Arts Nashua, Early Bird artist registration is now open for the 13th annual ArtWalk Weekend, downtown Nashua’s premier arts festival.

“Based on artist and attendee feedback, last year’s ArtWalk was considered a great success by the over 150 artists that participated and the members of the public who attended,” said City Arts Nashua President Lisa Bissonnette. ArtWalk, which has traditionally been held the weekend after Columbus Day, with this year’s event set for Oct. 14-15.

Already in the initial planning process, ArtWalk 2017 is expected to have over 150 student, emerging and established artists exhibiting and selling their work in multiple venues along Main Street in downtown Nashua. Patrons of ArtWalk visit local restaurants, bars and shops and get to know some of Nashua’s best parks, sculpture sites and public murals.

“As a nonprofit arts organization, part of City Arts Nashua’s mission is to enhance Nashua’s creative economy. We produce ArtWalk and present it to the public entirely free of charge to provide area artists with a well-publicized festival each year where they can display and sell their work without paying any commission, and to showcase our talented local performing arts entertainment,” Bissonnette added.

ArtWalk Weekend traditionally brings over 1,500 visitors to downtown Nashua.

ArtWalk 2017 will again offer free arts related activities for both children and adults, food stops so participants can enjoy Nashua’s wide variety of restaurants during their visit, and much more. ArtWalk is open to student, emerging and established artists. The registration fee is $35 ($15 for student artists) and includes a one-year membership to City Arts Nashua. Registration deadline is Sept. 1st.

All registered artists should submit high resolution photos of their work and a brief artist statement to City Arts Nashua to be used on the ArtWalk website and in other ArtWalk promotions.
