The Hollis Brookline High School’s FIRST Robotics Team 1073 competed at the New England District Championship the weekend of April 7, at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. They competed with their robot, Zeppelin, alongside 63 other teams from surrounding states. The team, also known as The Force Team, finished the qualifying competition ranked 34th in the New England area, and was chosen by the top-seeded alliance, who then together went on to win the District Championship.

The team’s overall ranking in the district is ninth out of 194 New England teams. This is the fourth year District Championships have been held and is the first time the team has won a District Championship. Winning at this event has qualified The Force Team to compete at the World Championships in St. Louis, Mo., during spring vacation week, April 26-29.

The team is accepting donations from the community to help alleviate travel and robot expenses. If you are interested in supporting the students, please make a check out to “HBHS,” with “Robotics 1073” in the memo line. Then address the envelope to Sue Hay, Hollis Brookline High School, 24 Cavalier Court, Hollis, NH 03049. Thank you for supporting Team 1073 and FIRST Robotics.
