DAR State Conference News

The Daughters of the American Revolution state conference was held in Concord, N.H. March 30 – 31, 2019.

The afternoon honored the State winners of the American History Essay Contest for this year.

The 8th grade winner was Jenna Lynch from Brookline, N.H. She is home schooled by her mother. Jenna also won this contest at the Regional level.

This is an annual essay and open to all 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Grade students at public and private schools, as well as homeschooled students.

The subject for this year’s essay was entitled: “The Woman’s Suffrage Campaign”, (The 19th Amendment to the Constitutiion) a difficult subject, as students classes don’t cover U. S. History until their Freshman year at the high school level.

Congratulations to Jenna!
