Millions in relief funding available to eligible businesses

CONCORD – An initial $400 million in emergency funding from the CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund is available to New Hampshire small businesses, and the window for submitting applications closes next week.

The mandatory pre-qualification period ends May 29 for this Main Street Relief Fund. Eligible small businesses in New Hampshire seeking to obtain funds must submit the pre-qualification form, filling out all the required information by this date, or they will not be eligible for relief through the program. It is not guaranteed that a business will receive the financial relief after submitting the required information.

The form must be submitted online through the Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery website. The form and more information is available at https://www.goferr.nh.gov.

Businesses are eligible if they generated less than $20 million in revenue during the 2019 tax year, with their principle place of business located in New Hampshire. Following the pre-qualification deadline, the announcement of program specifics will occur on June 1. From there, the formal application period will run from June 1 through June 8.

This formal application must then be submitted through an online portal that is administered by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration. Shortly after this filing period comes to a close, the DRA will then begin processing the relief payments.

Moreover, health care, child care and agriculture businesses are not eligible for this program, rather those entities are or will be addressed through other programs.
