On Thursday March 10, the HBHS Cheer team competed in the final round of the NHIAA Division II Winter Spirit State Championships held at Pinkerton Academy.  They finished 5th and achieved their highest team score in program history (79.1).

“This team has exceeded our expectations this season in every way possible,” said Melissa Scherer, assistant coach for the team.  “They’re amazing kids, great teammates, supportive, cohesive and work well together. They’ve performed at a level higher than they’ve ever done before. We are incredibly proud of them!”

And there’s more to come.  According to Scherer, the team just found out that they will be heading to regional competition on Saturday.  It’s another opportunity for them to do their best and enjoy being a team as long as they can.
