HOLLIS, NH – Hollis resident Juliana “Julie” Rowland was named VFW 2021 Citizen of the Year at the Hollis Town Meeting on March 12, 2022.  Chris Lussier, Quartermaster of Post 11373, presented the award.

Rowland was recognized for her work creating the local online newspaper, HollisBrooklineNewsOnline.com, and for developing the Flower Project “that distributes flowers to people to thank and recognize them for their work or just to make them feel good.”  Both the newspaper and flowers are projects created through the Rotary Club of Hollis-Brookline and the flower project is in partnership with Trader Joe’s.  Rowland has been a member of HB Rotary since 2009.

Lussier also recognized Rowland for her work in picking up litter and organizing roadside cleanup teams to help beautify the town. “Through her volunteer work, we see the patriotic spirit of our community throughout the year and are proud we live in such a community.”
