Merrimack woman awarded NAR Green Designation

MERRIMACK – Cheryl Liss, a sales associate affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Bedford, has been awarded the National Association of Realtors Green Designation, the only green professional real estate designation recognized by NAR.

Liss, a Merrimack resident, achieved this prestigious designation after completing two days of coursework and passing accompanying exams. The designation provides real estate agents with comprehensive knowledge about green homes and buildings and issues of sustainability in relation to real estate.

As a part of the course, Liss was trained in understanding what makes a property green, helping clients evaluate the cost/benefit of green building features and practices, distinguishing between industry rating and classification systems, listing and marketing green homes and buildings, discussing the financial grants and incentives available to homeowners, and helping consumers see a property’s green potential.

Liss’ colleague Lisa Schmalz, of Hollis, was also honored with the designation.

“Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is committed to ensuring that affiliated sales associates have access to the business development necessary to meet market demands,” said Mike Keeler, regional vice president of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Bedford. “By becoming a NAR Green designee, Lisa and Cheryl are able to provide remarkable service to a growing number of consumers interested in the environment and eco-friendly living.”
