Wanted Merrimack man charged in hit-and-run

MANCHESTER – Joshua Corbett, 36, of Merrimack, was taken into custody on May 12 by federal law enforcement agents in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left another person seriously injured.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Corbett was wanted by the Nashua District Court for conduct after an accident.

U.S. Marshals and Merrimack Police attempted to capture Corbett on the evening of May 11. However, he was able to escape as officers approached, prompting a manhunt.

Nashua and Manchester Police assisted in making the arrest.

Corbett has been charged with second degree assault conduct after an accident-personal injury, operating after certification as a habitual offender, driving after revocation or suspension-personal injury and driving without given proof.

Under state law, if convicted, Corbett could face up to 29 years in prison, up to 20 years of probation and up to $18,000 in fines.

Corbett refused bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 13.
