MERRIMACK – Anjalie Cruz and Ateyah Gendron, both 18 and of Nashua, sustained serious injuries in a rollover crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike during the early morning hours of Sept. 13.

According to State Police, at 1:27 a.m., troopers responded to the location of two vehicles that were approximately 30 feet off the right side of the road.

The preliminary investigation determined that Cruz, who was driving a 2010 Honda Civic, struck the center concrete barrier. As she attempted to regain control of the vehicle, Cruz allegedly struck a 2007 Toyota Yaris, driven by Thomas Heath II, 44, of Lowell, Mass., and his passenger, Keila Castillo, 34, of Boston.

The impact caused the vehicles to veer off the right side of the road and roll over. Heath and Castillo also suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The right southbound lane remained closed for approximately 90 minutes. State Police were assisted by the state Department of Transportation as well as members of the Merrimack Police and Fire departments.
