David Carleton Brown, of Asheville, North Carolina, formerly from Amherst, New Hampshire, passed away on April 2, 2013.

Born on July 6, 1945 in Rutland, Vermont, he was the son of the late Robert, and Barbara Brown of Brown’s Cleaner’s. He attended Rutland schools, and was a graduate of the University of Vermont, and the University of Massachusetts.

He worked as an electrical engineer in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and North Carolina. He was an enthusiastic volunteer at Habitat for Humanity.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Brown of Asheville: sons Christopher Brown, and his wife Sarah of Advance, N.C., Brian Brown, and his wife Emily, of Richmond, Va., David M. Brown, and his fiancée, Angel of Raleigh, N.C., and a daughter, Wendy Evans, and her husband, Blair of Gloucester Point, Va. Also, granddaughters, Mckaylyn, and Alanah Brown, and Macie, and Leah Evans; sisters Roberta Weaver, and her husband Bill, of Orlando, Fla., Janet Vadnais, and her husband Dave, of Castleton, Vt., and Susan Davis, and her husband Bill of Rutland, Vt., and a brother Douglas Brown, and Donna Beaudry, of Pittsford, Vt.

A Celebration of Life is planned in Manchester, New Hampshire in June at Phaneuf Funeral Home.
