Richard A. DiMartino

Richard A. DiMartino, 82 of Merrimack, NH passed away peacefully on Monday June 27, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Medford, MA on Aug. 7, 1933 a son of the late Frank and Josephine (Amaru) DiMartino.

Richard graduated from Medford High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. Before retirement, he was employed for 45 years with the Federal Aviation Admin in Nashua, NH. He started as an air traffic controller, and then went on to become the Support Manager for Quality Assurance/Training Operations Manager.

He received numerous awards and citations from the White House, State of NH, Jeanne Shaheen, Judd Gregg and the Dept. of Transportation for his hard work, dedication and commitment he gave to ensure that our skies were safe.

Richard enjoyed life to the fullest. He lived for Christmas every year to prepare his famous Italian dinner including his chicken cutlets for his children and especially for his grandchildren. He was a proud father and grandfather who never missed graduations, sporting events, birthdays and dance recitals.

He was known by all for his sense of humor. He adored Frank Sinatra, loved to sing Karaoke, dance and spend time out with his beautiful wife. He was well known and adored at many businesses and restaurants in his hometown Merrimack.

Richard will be truly missed by his entire family and all who had the opportunity to know him.

He was the loving husband of Edna (Yeomans) DiMartino of Somerville, MA. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on June 23, 2016.

Members of his surviving family including his devoted wife are his brother Robert J. DiMartino, his children, Cheryl A. Henderson, Cynthia M. Chesnulevich and son-in-law David, Joseph M. DiMartino, Maureen C. Arthur and son-in-law Robert, Joanne M. Albani and son-in-law Daniel, David R. DiMartino and daughter-in-law Pamela, Jennifer D. Bates and son-in-law Timothy; 17 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Calling hours were held in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, NH, on Friday July 1, 2016 at 9:30am.
