Michael F. Debelis, of Merrimack, NH, died peacefully in his sleep in Fort Pierce, Florida, on May 26, 2016, from a heart attack due to complications from diabetes. He was 58.

Michael was born on January 8, 1958 in Nashua, NH, to his parents John and Olivette Debelis. He graduated from Merrimack High School in 1976. In his early years, he was a truck driver for Preston Trucking. Michael enjoyed literature and music and wrote many songs to play on his Martin guitar. But most of all, he really loved the ocean and spent time scuba diving and went on to earn his captain’s license. He spent several years in Portsmouth, NH and the last nine years in Florida.

Michael is survived by his son Dylan Doyle Debelis of New York. Besides his son, survivors include his two brothers John Debelis and Richard Debelis of Merrimack, NH; his sisters Janet Pinet and her husband Sonny of Merrimack, NH, and Susan Maguire and her husband Tom of Goffstown, NH; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
