Lidia Hartel, 90, of Nashua, NH, and a former longtime resident of Merrimack, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a brief illness.

She was born in Rozzo, Istria, on July 9, 1926, a daughter of the late Pietro and Avelina Perni.

Lidia was a member of the Merrimack V.F.W. Post No. 8641.

She is the widow of Robert J. Hartel, who died in 2011, and is also predeceased by a brother Emelio Perni.

Members of her family include two sons, Robert Peter Hartel of Natick, MA, and Steven Hartel and his wife Paula of Holliston, MA; a daughter, Evelyn Frechette and her husband Mark of Nashua; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother Bruno Perni and his wife Annamaria; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held in the Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH, on Wednesday Sept. 14, 2016 from 5-8 PM. Funeral service will be held at 8 PM.
