Linda Margaret (Lakins) Russell, 80, of Amherst NH died Thursday June 14, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by family.

She was born in Syracuse, NY in 1938, the daughter of the late Franklin Dudley Lakins and Alfreda Schooley (Bobeau) Lakins. Linda met her husband, Richard, at Onondaga Hill High School, Onondaga, NY and graduated in 1956. She attended business school and worked as a bookkeeper for Lipe-Rollway, Inc., until 1963. Linda and Richard moved several times, living in New York, Arizona, Ohio and New Hampshire.

Linda was an artist who loved gardening, history, reading and spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the King’s Daughters of Nashua, NH, where she performed the duties of secretary for 17 years. She also was an active member of the Friends of the Amherst Town Library, Amherst Garden Club and book club. She enjoyed her bridge groups with her close friends.

Members of her family include her beloved husband of 59 years, Richard G. Russell of Amherst, NH, a son Bernard Russell and his wife Lori of Webster, NY, a daughter Margaret Wilson and her husband Craig, of Merrimack, NH; grandchildren Ian Russell and his wife Marina of San Diego, CA, Jared Russell of San Diego, CA, and Steven and Cameron Wilson of Merrimack, NH; great granddaughter Shealynn Russell of San Diego, CA; sisters Elizabeth Peterson and her husband Alan of Charlotte, NC; and Lucinda Ryan and her husband Stephen of Skaneateles, NY; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Service which will be celebrated Saturday July 7, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 3 Limbo Lane, Amherst NH, with lunch to follow. For those who wish memorial donations in her honor can be sent to the King’s Daughters Benevolent Association of Nashua, NH or the Amherst Town Library, Amherst, NH.
