Carol Ann Sylvia

Carol Ann Sylvia, 65, of Merrimack and Harwich, MA passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, March 28th, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA after a courageous and long fought battle with multiple ailments.

She was born in Passaic, NJ on July 6th, 1953 to the late Sabbat and Mary D. (Ryan) Strianse. She attended Merrimack College in North Andover, MA where she received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Education.

Carol was a teacher at St. Christopher’s in Nashua and the director at St. James Pre-School in Merrimack for many years before her retirement. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends and as much time as possible at her home on Cape Cod.

Surviving members of her family include her loving husband of 43 years, Edmund Sylvia; three beloved children, Andrew Sylvia of Nashua, Patrick Sylvia and his wife Angela of Manchester, and Caitlin Sylvia of Merrimack; one granddaughter, Quinn Sylvia; two sisters, Patricia Toglia and Kathleen Lawrence, both of Caldwell, NJ, along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH on Thursday, April 4th from 4 – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Friday, April 5th at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Last Rest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol’s memory can be made to American Diabetes Foundation and the National Foundation for Transplants.
