Thanks for strawberry fest success
To the Editor:
On Sunday, June 27, the Hollis Woman’s Club and the Hollis Town Band cosponsored the 61st annual Hollis Strawberry Festival in historic Monument Square in Hollis. Thank you to all of the patrons, loyal followers and new ones, as well, who came to enjoy the music and eat strawberry shortcake and sundaes, cool down with an ice cream cone and support a good cause.
Many people helped make this a successful day for the two organizations. Thank you to Brookdale Fruit Farm and Lull Farm for selling the especially juicy strawberries and for the use of Brookdale’s refrigerated storage facility.
Doc Davis was our ice cream vendor, which also provided the freezer during the festival.
The Hollis Strawberry Festival had many supporters and contributors who generously helped to underwrite the festival: Hollis Veterinary Hospital, Helfman, Lasky & Associates, Hollis Family Chiropractic, E. Klopfer, DDS, farm design, Hollis Auto, Granite State Pressure Washing, Udelsman and Associates, Harvest Market, Daniella at Salon Apex, Sport Nature Riding, A. Lyford, DMD, Technology Garden, Caren at East Coast Salon, Morin’s Landscaping, Jim LaPeer, Xuping Tang, Hannaford Market, East Coast Gutters, Linda at Salon Apex and Leda Lanes.
We cannot thank those volunteers who gave hundreds of hours to plan for and execute the festival.
HWC members, their family members and friends, as well as members of the HBHS National Honor Society and the First Robotics Team from HBHS gave their all to hull strawberries, bake the shortcakes and work at the festival.
Proceeds from the festival will go toward scholarships and to local charitable organizations.
