Hollis VFW, always ready to help, seeks donations

To the Editor:

The Hollis VFW Post was founded in 1992, and this is a first for us.

After reading the great letter to the editor by Wilfrid Marquis about veterans in the Tuesday, Sept. 23, Telegraph, I felt it was time.

Our VFW post has been low key for 22 years, but we have done a lot of work behind the scenes that seldom gathers attention.

Lately, however, we have had several events where our post has come forward to help area veterans in dire need, and we have drained our relief fund. If you can relate to an organization, like our VFW, who is always there for veterans and is getting increased requests for assistance but has dried up its available funds, you might consider extending a helping hand.

Our VFW post is like a food pantry with empty shelves. Donations should be sent to Hollis VFW Post 11373, P.O. Box 1012, Hollis NH 03049. Checks should be made out to Hollis VFW Relief Fund.

Commander, Hollis VFW
