Thanks for help with Hollis roadside cleanup

To the Editor:

With the annual Hollis roadside cleanup now in the rearview mirror, the Hollis Conservation Commission extends a heartfelt thanks to the many people and organizations that participated in that worthy event.

For many years now, the Hollis Conservation Commission has sponsored this annual roadside cleanup, and the residents of Hollis have responded to the call. Because of their efforts, a significant amount of the roads in Hollis were cleaned on Saturday, May 16, and over 60 bags of trash were delivered to the Hollis Transfer Station.

Special thanks go out to the Hollis Democrats; the children, parents and teachers of the Hollis Congregational Church Sunday School; Boy Scouts from Troop 12 orchestrated by Scout Sean Stearns; the Hollis-Brookline Rotary; and the many friends of conservation who participated and residents of Hollis who routinely and actively keep their neighborhoods free of unsightly trash.

We also thank Joanne Cudworth from the Hollis DPW for providing her assistance and securing the trash bags needed.
