Whalen seeks votes for school board

To the Editor:

My name is Krista Whalen, and I am asking for your support to continue serving on the Hollis Brookline Cooperative School District.

The past four years, I have worked on the Co-op School Board and learned a great deal about our school district.

As a parent and as a businessperson, it has been my goal to help run the district in a fiscally responsible way while providing the best education experience possible for our children.

Our family has been in Hollis for 17 years. Two of our children graduated from Hollis Brookline High School, and we have two still in the co-op schools. I am running for school board and asking for your vote.

In addition to serving as current chairperson of the Co-op School Board, I have worked on numerous committees. I chaired the recent superintendent search committee, served on the Cav Block Scheduling Committee; I serve on the curriculum committee, the RSEC board and have worked on the last two negotiating teams for the support staff contracts.

The experience and knowledge I have gained in the past four years will provide a base I can continue to build upon as we work to develop strong curriculum, represent the community to district and school administration, ensure that our tax dollars are well spent and continue to provide our children with an outstanding education.

Thank you for your consideration, and I hope you will vote for me on Tuesday, March 8, at the Lawrence Barn.

Krista Whalen
