All candidates will do a great job
To the Editor:
I am writing in response to a letter to the editor written by John and Brenda Grady (Merrimack Journal, March 29).
With all due respect to John and Brenda Grady, who have served Merrimack for many years, I am not sure of what they are trying to tell the people of Merrimack with the following excerpt from their letter to the editor.
“During the mid-90s our town was ridiculed, not only here in New Hampshire, but in the nation due to the emphasis upon social issues that some board members chose to have on their agenda. Neither Shannon nor Chris will allow us to revert back to those dark days.”
I agree that both Shannon Barnes and Chris Ortega are outstanding individuals who would never allow us to revert to the 90s, but I also think it’s fair to say that Gary Krupp, the only other candidate for School Board and a veteran of the Iraq war, certainly would not go back to the 90s either. I am not sure if the Gradys made this comment because they do not know Mr. Krupp or if there were other reasons but as someone who knows Mr. Krupp as a defender of freedom and a devoted parent he wants nothing but the best for the people of Merrimack.
All three candidates will do a great job representing Merrimack and all three will continue to work to improve the education of the children of Merrimack.
Let’s focus on the issues of 2013 and not what went on in the 90s.
We have come a long way. Let’s continue moving forward.
