Thanks to Red Cross volunteers

To the Editor:

During National Volunteer Week, April 21-27, the American Red Cross is celebrating our dedicated volunteers: people who make the American Red Cross run. Red Cross volunteers bring food, shelter, comfort and hope to hundreds of local families rebuilding after a home fire. They provide services to members of the military, veterans and their families, including communications that link military members to their loved ones during an emergency.

Red Cross volunteers teach first aid, CPR, swimming, babysitting, and other health and safety courses. They staff community fairs to encourage their neighbors to learn these lifesaving skills and organize celebrations to recognize people who use their Red Cross training to save lives. Volunteers are the backbone and heart of the American Red Cross and are very special to us and the New Hampshire communities that they serve.

If you’re interested in serving your community in a team-friendly environment, become a valued Red Cross volunteer today. Opportunities in the following areas are available now: Teaching and training others, working with government and/or military, placing/
managing volunteers, logistics, technology and/or data, planning special events, working with youth.
