Garden Club plant sale a success

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Merrimack Garden Club, I would like to thank the folks who contributed to our successful plant sale held June 8.

Thanks to all our customers who purchased plants and gave donations. The proceeds contribute to the horticultural education of our members, as well as community projects.

We also want to extend our gratitude to the vendors who added variety of goods to our plant sale. Sibylle Tornow from Sibylle’s Pottery featured her lovely wall plaques and dishes; Valerie Laker from Ink Buds featured her much-loved note cards and sketches. Yard Spice Organics offered products and information about their organic supplies and services and Sue Spengler from Greenway Formula 7 offered a variety of natural nontoxic insect repellents.

A special thanks to Garden Club members, as well as many local vendors who donated various gift items to our raffle table. Contributors include
FrizzHomes Gardens,
Merrimack Flower Shop, DW Diner, Pets Choice,  Homestead Restaurant, Bedford Fields, Amherst Garden Center, Sibylle’s Pottery, Sal’s Pizza, Shaws, Best Cleaners, Sweet Ginger Thai Cuisine, East China, Common Man, Hot Rize Cafe, and wine bottle cheese cutting board from Paula Garvey, of Rosies Roses. There were various donations made by members including a hand painted bird house, floral cutting board, cookie tin and Trivet and a flower sun catcher.

We also are grateful for the newspaper articles and photographs, which helped to publicize not only this plant sale but also the other activities we have engaged in throughout the year.

Last, but not least, I would like to thank the all the members of the Merrimack Garden Club who helped dig, pot, water, display and sell all the plants we had available.
