Merrimack Lioness Club thanks residents, businesses

To the Editor:

We would like to thank the many residents who took names from our trees for Operation Santa and purchased gifts for the needy. We are given a list each year from the Welfare Department of those in need. We do not know the identity of these people, we are only given an assigned number. So many of you purchased toys, clothing and gift cards to help make Christmas a little brighter for those less fortunate.

A big thank you goes out to the Merrimack Lions Club and the Merrimack Fire Department for their monetary donation. The D.W. Diner also ran a 50/50 raffle and gave us 50 percent of that raffle to buy gifts.

The following locations were kind enough to have a tree: Merrimack Post Office, Merrimack Public Library, Frank’s Place, Total Chiropractic, Hot Rize, Gold’s Gym – Merrimack and Nashua, Homestead Restaurant, Merrimack Vision Care, Hairthurium and the D.W. Diner. Without their support, this project would not be possible.

Rosehaven, a group home located in Merrimack for elderly residents, was also a recipient of gifts. Members of our club attended a Christmas lunch there and presented the residents with their gifts. Some of these residents have no family, so these are the only Christmas gifts they receive.

A happy and healthy New Year is wished to you from our club. If you would like to find out more about our club or attend a meeting, please contact Marsha at 440-5399.
